jackets, jackets

On the way back from the North Shore the other night we stopped at a mall. I haven't been to a mall in so long! It was kind of overwhelming! We parked outside of a Sears, and then as I was walking through I saw the Land's End Canvas line. The jacket above was my favorite - actually just what I've been looking for in terms of an in between seasons piece that I can layer sweaters under. I said I'd think about it, and then I came home and saw it was half off online, and then found an additional 25% off coupon with free shipping. It's funny these days how all my shopping is done online because I know somewhere out there there's a discount code or coupon. I kind of feel bad for stores because of this, but when it comes to saving more than half of the retail cost of the item, it's kind of worth it. I think I'd feel bad using the same mentality for small shops though.

oh yes, there's nothing quite like a mall! i love the jacket, it's like something from Dace.

i have this weird hierarchy set up in my mind where i don't mind using coupons for mall stores. i'll use them once in a while for small shops that i don't really 'know.' but i have a few shops on my list that i try to buy something full-priced at least once a year.

i had been eyeing this online. glad to hear it's cute in real life. looks like a cheaper, good alternative to a barbour-type jacket.

Looks lovely! I really like the length of it and I think you will most certainly rock it. Pictures, pictures!!!

I am the same way, I get to the mall maybe once a year. All of my shopping is done online! I kind of miss being able to touch the fabrics though or see the color in person. In the end though, malls are just too overwhelming.

What a great jacket. And I do about 60% of my shopping online. I like getting my deal on and I find them more on the internet than irl.

I have to agonize and read reviews ... so online is better for me. Plus I like to be alone when I shop - none of this trying on everything in the store with a friend just for the sake of shopping. But I digress, love the jacket.

I've really been warming up to Lands' End Canvas lately. I got some ballet flats that look almost just like Repettos (but certainly nothing can replace actual thing) for something like $25. I've been eyeing their coats as well. Love this one. I hear ya about the mall.....I think that people will continue to buy more and more online these days.

I do the same. Especially living in Canada, I find it hard to pay a lot more for items that I can buy in the States for less when our dollar is at par. For example, designer jeans cost WAY more here- I saved $100 buying a pair of j brand jeans online! I agree with the guilt factor though, I don't do it with small shops :).

I really like this jacket; I've been eyeing it online for a while. How does it fit?

The jacket has a really great fit, and in my opinion fits true to size. You may even consider downsizing one size if you want it a bit more tailored. But so far, it seems well made, and quite wind resistant too.
