blonde

I'm not ready to show a picture because my hair isn't quite there yet, but, for the first time in about four years, I got a real hair cut (I cut my own hair usually) and got a little bit of blonde in it. I like what the stylist did to it, but he didn't go as blonde as I had hoped. I think I'm going to go back there and get more put in because it just feels too dark still (i.e. no one is noticing, haha!) - but, it's a step in the right direction! I've always been a bit of a tomboy when it comes to anything related to hair, etc - most days I just don't care about it and up in a pony tail it goes. I was actually blonde up until age seven, and then somehow it all went away, so I'm kind of curious what it will be like again. I found all these pictures on pinterest so I have no idea where they are from originally, go figure pinterest.

I TOTALLY know what you mean, Julia...I decided on a whim back in November that I was tired of my ho-hum hair and went red...NEVER dyed my hair before, always hate it when it gets cut...went to my friend's lady, she told me it would be progressive, and she would ease me into it...came out with a darker shade of brown than I already had, maybe with some shades of red, but not really...went back two days later, told her to go all out, and I haven't gone back since...granted, it was Elmo red the first few dyes--and then it would eventually fade--but I like where it's at now...long story short, go back in there and demand to get it how you want it! I figure it's about time at 26, since it didn't happen at 13, this whole hair experimentation thing...

I am excited to see!!

I'd never changed my hair color with anything but Henna until recently when we bleached my dreads. While I hate the roots growing out, somehow I feel like blonde suits me - a few years back, I neeever would have done such a thing...

i can totally see you with more blonde in your hair, so i'm not surprised that you had lighter hair as a child!

it's been nearly 8 months since my last hair cut, and a part of me thinks why bother because it's always up, but it's starting to get hard to brush.

i love these messy styles. ack, don't get me started on hair-envy!

Megan - Ha! It sounds like you had the same experience, they wanted to ease you into it! I felt like I was ready for a big change, but I guess maybe I didn't imply how big! I'm really sick of my dark hair. I tried black about 4 years ago when I was in an "I'm angry" phase, but I'm so glad I ditched that! I can't wait to see your red hair - either in person at some point or via the internets. How are you doing btw? I feel like it's been forever!!!! :)

Arlie - I bet your dreads look awesome blonde! I love dreads. Yes, the one thing about going lighter is dealing with roots! That's why I thought if I did a lot of highlights I wouldn't have to worry about roots so much.

Erica - Yup! I was super blonde. My mom is very blonde so it's from her, I just wish mine stuck around!

I feel the same way. That's why I never bothered getting a hair cut. And again, it's up in a bun today - oh well!

you go girl :) blonde is the best choice for summer i think. i always get that too.. i change my hair just a tiny bit (thinking i have made a maaajor change) and no one seems to notice! but it's just hair... even if you get a disaster hair-cut or color, it will grow back - eventually.

You're funny not showing your hair. I guess if it doesn't feel right yet then you should wait for the big reveal. I'm excited to see!

I've got the blondies in the end. It's cute - it looks summery. I'm not very adventurous with my hair colour/style either but the blonde isn't too outrageous.
