little buddy

Yesterday, after many phone calls, I found a rehabilatator for our little friend. Many centers were completely full and were not taking any additional rescued wildlife, but finally one of the hospitals referred me to a woman in Arlington who said she was full as well, but felt bad and could take him. She was so nice and I'm so grateful to have found her. So our little buddy made a trek across town, sleeping the whole way, and is now safely in a new home where he will be properly fed and taken care of until he can be released. I feel so much better now. I took this little video right before we left, right after his eyes opened for the first time:

Aw so cute! Good on you for finding a place for him. We have taken three cats and a dog into rescue centers over the past years! Not to mention baby possums and things.. we big creatures have to look out for the little ones!
